| The Southern Trail & Adventure Riders (S.T.A.R.) was formed in 2000 by a group of trail riders who wanted to see more of this great state of ours with some challenges thrown in along the way! Meetings are on the first Monday of the month from 8pm at the Caledonian hotel in Wonthaggi. These are relaxed meetings planning day rides for the coming month and also weekend rides staying overnight in pubs with 4wd backup vehicles in most cases. We have five members who have completed a first aid course, an EPIRB, UHF radios, first aid kit, and mobile phone. The phone is used to SMS members to keep them updated on ride dates, etc. Membership is just $30 and with the local bike shops offering a 10% discount for members, this is fantastic value for money. Come for a ride or two with us before joining to see what we are about. Annual weekend rides include Erica to Woods Point in December, Dargo Queens birthday weekend in June. Other weekend rides include Dargo to Bright, Bairnsdale to Omeo, the Otways and Buchan. Day ride areas include Walhalla, Rokeby, Welshpool, Licola, Mirboo north and Blue rock dam.
