Presidents Report

I am very pleased to be re-elected as president and I am looking forward to the year ahead. I would like to
thank Russell, Matt and Joe for their great work and support over the last twelve months and I’m sure they are
ready for the year ahead as well. Russell is re-elected as secretary and Matt is re-elected as treasurer.

There are some great new ideas circulating the club at the moment, which will result in members being better
informed, more predictable ride days and rides being tailored to what you, the members want. Please come forward
with your ideas on meeting nights or give me a call on 56574248, after all this is your club and we need to know
what could be improved or what needs to stay the same.

Craig Matthews has made up ride report forms which take only a couple of minutes to complete and he will be
sending out more newsletters to keep members informed with ride reports included. Joe will be organising weekend
rides. The months have been roughly set out for each of these rides with the dates to be set by the members on
future meeting nights.

Simon is working on the website with new photos, ride dates, newsletters, etc. I can also update photo CDs
when required. With everyone putting in this much effort this will be a fantastic year ahead with something for
everyone.

                                                                                      Catch ya later, Dallas.

BITS AND PIECES

The Australian Motorcycle expo is on again this year at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 6th , 7th and 8th
October 2006.

As well as the Expo, on Friday night there will be a round of freestyle Motocross tour and Pitbike Pro tour and on
Saturday and Sunday there will be rounds of the Stadium Enduros X series.  If you want more info you can get on
the net and go to the EAT MY DIRT site www.eatmydirt.com.au

Both Phill and Russ took their bikes in for a simple valve clearance recently but ended up with a rebuild around the
thousand-dollar mark. OUCH!!!!

Joe had a decent get off at the Stradbroke ride and did a superman inpersanation, flying through the air at around
80kmp resulting in a dislocated collarbone.  Apparently his KTM and Townsy’s Husaberg decided to get a little close
and personal together by locking handlebars.

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES

Townsy has taken delivery of a new 07 KTM 450, so his Berg is looking for a new home.
Barney recently sold his DRZ and has replaced it with a 04 Gas Gas 300.

CLASSIFIEDS

If anyone wants to sell or buy anything eg. Bike, riding gear, parts etc just let Barney know and it can be put into the
newsletter.

Brief Comments:
Great riding with some guys who are going to join the club and good to see guys like
Darren Coldebella getting back into dirt bikes after about 17 years of road bike riding and not riding at all.  Couple
of the boys had a go at Deep Creek 4 but only Geoff on his Husky 510 could get up, very rocky, rutted top and
fairly slippery.  With very little dust and some slippery spots thrown in, it made for awesome riding on all the tracks.
With a couple of the boys not having ridden for a while plenty of rest stops were taken and old friendships caught
up on.  This ride showed what fun could be had when the club has a new members/slower riders day or weekend
ride.  Great finish to a great weekend.
